Position Announcement
The Department of Psychology and Counseling at Utah Valley University invites applications for an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) for our Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) Master's Program. We are a vibrant and growing 60-credit program that leads to eligibility for counseling licensure through the State of Utah. The successful candidate will have a PhD or equivalent in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP-accredited institution, with knowledge of CACREP accreditation requirements. We seek a candidate who will also be able to teach at least two of the following courses: ACA Ethics, Addiction Counseling, Practicum, and Internship. A successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in pedagogy and instructional theories, with a strong ability to deliver instruction across multiple modalities, including face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats.

The ideal candidate will be adept at teaching key skills essential to psychology and demonstrate respect in all interactions with students. Additionally, candidates should have the ability to conduct research and disseminate it in presentations and publications. Summary of Responsibilities
The CMHC program is part of the Psychology and Counseling Department. Our psychology program consists of nearly 2,000 undergraduate students. Department faculty is composed of collaborative academics who mentor many undergraduate majors in their scholarly activities. Workload expectations are teaching (80%), research (10%), and service (10%).
Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
PhD or equivalent in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP-accredited institution. ABD may be accepted. The position is located in Utah and requires candidates to establish residency in Utah upon hire. We seek colleagues with a history of demonstrating respect for students and colleagues both inside and outside the classroom.
